Alabama football schedule 2020: Predicting every Crimson Tide game
LSU looms large on the Alabama football schedule on Nov. 7.
Nov. 7 – at LSU
Suffice it to say that Nick Saban will be out for blood when he leads his team into Baton Rouge to begin November. Don’t expect this to be a cake-walk for Bama just because Joe Burrow is gone now, though. The Tigers have a ton of elite talent that steps into a bigger role and, by this point in the season, could be hitting their stride. Call this one a nailbiter for me but the experience of Alabama will help them prevail. Prediction Win
Nov. 14 – vs. UT Martin
After five consecutive SEC opponents, the Crimson Tide get a bit of a respite with a home matchup against UT Martin. Much like the softer parts of the early schedule, Alabama should have no problem cruising to a hefty victory in this matchup. Prediction: Win
Nov. 21 – vs. Texas A&M
Because of the horrendously tough schedule, the Aggies were dealt last season, it’s hard to know just what to expect from Kellen Mond and the rest of Jimbo Fisher’s Texas A&M team this season. For my money, however, Mond just may not have the juice many have wished for him to show and the Aggies aren’t in the same tier as the SEC’s elite — you know, with teams like Alabama. Prediction: Win
Nov. 28 – vs. Auburn
Bama by 30. No, I’m not kidding. While Auburn won the Iron Bowl last season and Bo Nix had one of the best games of the young quarterback’s freshman season, I still don’t believe in Nix’s overall ability. And with the Crimson Tide defense ready to look like the units of old that dominate on that side of the ball, they’re going to demoralize Nix and the Tigers in Tuscaloosa for a resounding rivalry win. Prediction: Win
Dec. 5 – SEC Championship Game vs. Georgia
Maybe it’s Georgia or maybe it’s Florida that ends up representing the SEC East in the conference championship game but, whatever the case, they’ll be facing an unbeaten Alabama football team for the spot as top dog in the SEC. No matter who the opponent is either, it’s clear to me that the Crimson Tide are the conference’s best team and should advance to the College Football Playoff as SEC champs with a 13-0 record. Prediction: Win
College Football Playoff
For as talented as this Alabama team is, the quarterback position continues to worry me, especially when considering that they’d have to face either Clemson or Ohio State in the College Football Playoff semifinals. Ultimately, the Tigers and Buckeyes are better football teams with fewer questions, which means the Tide won’t make it to the National Championship Game.
Predicted Finish: 13-1
Not making it to the National Championship Game is undoubtedly going to be considered a disappointment for the Crimson Tide. However, if Young sees the field, we know that the talent pipeline remains strong, meaning this should be a step towards another Alabama football title coming sooner rather than later.
