2. Cade Cunningham could transfer to North Carolina

The best way to try and figure out a path forward for Cunningham is to look at his final list of schools while seeing who has scholarships available. A lot of scholarships are fully locked at this point, but savvy programs usually leave one open for late transfers that could have an impact.

One such school is North Carolina, which Cunningham visited and seriously considered before committing to Oklahoma State. The Tar Heels are coming off a bad year and are looking for a rebound in the ACC, which Cunningham could definitely help create.

North Carolina also has one scholarship still open thanks to NBA departures and graduations. Head coach Roy Williams has six incoming freshmen to bolster his roster, including three five-star recruits and three-four star recruits.

Caleb Love does play Cunningham’s position of point guard, but Williams wouldn’t turn down the opportunity to have both players on his roster. Cunningham and Love could split time on the ball, allowing both the chance to put up some points and improve their draft stock at the same time.

The appeal of playing for a major program in the ACC also can’t be ignored since Cunningham will likely be a one-and-done player. Getting tutelage from a coach like Williams, who has sent multiple talented point guards off to the NBA, would be an invaluable experience for Cunningham.
