3. The Rams have serious star power on defense

Los Angeles hasn’t done a great job of constructing a balanced roster, but there’s no denying the fact that they have some elite defensive pieces. If everyone stays healthy, the Rams have a chance to field a very good defense in 2020.

The outlook for the team is particularly bright on the defensive front. Aaron Donald is arguably the most disruptive player in football. He will make life much easier for Michael Brockers and A’Shawn up front. Opposing offensive lines are going to have a real problem blocking the Rams’ defensive front all season long.

Jalen Ramsey isn’t quite on Donald’s level, but he still comfortably profiles as one of the best cornerbacks in football. The Rams can comfortably deploy him against any No. 1 wideout in the league on a weekly basis. His brilliance can do a lot to cover up any missteps from his peers in the secondary.

The Rams quietly finished 17th in the league in terms of points allowed in 2019. Stepping up into the top 10 would do a lot to elevate the team’s win total in 2020. Guys like Donald and Ramsey can help Los Angeles make that leap.
