5 reasons Vikings can win with Kirk Cousins in 2020
2. Adam Thielen is a Pro Bowl wide receiver
There’s no way around the fact that trading Diggs leaves the Vikings with less talent at the wide receiver position. That doesn’t mean Minnesota doesn’t have anyone Cousins can count on.

Adam Thielen, after all, was the team’s No. 1 option at wide receiver even when Diggs was on the roster. He lacks the top-end speed that made Diggs such a threat to opposing secondaries, but he’s one of the best route runners in football. Thielen is still going to catch a ton of passes from Cousins this season.
The key for Thielen will be to improve on the 10 games he played for the Vikings in 2019. If he’s healthy for the full campaign, he should post another season with triple-digit catches and 1,000 yards in this offense. If he can’t stay on the field, obviously those totals will decrease sharply.
In the end, Vikings fans should count on the connection that Cousins has already formed with Thielen to continue in 2020. The two players work incredibly well together. The departure of Diggs isn’t going to change that reality anytime soon.
