Chicago Bears: Khalil Mack

The Bears need better quarterback play to return to the playoffs in 2020. Neither Mitchell Trubisky nor Nick Foles is going to get anywhere near an MVP Award though.

Mack’s potential for greatness on the defensive side of the ball is this team’s best chance. He’ll need to notch a big sack total and force numerous turnovers to make a postseason award happen. Coincidentally, that’s also what the Bears need from Mack to win the NFC North.

Detroit Lions: Matthew Stafford

The Lions’ 2019 campaign turned into a disaster when Stafford went down to injury. The franchise’s hope is that his return to the field can get them back into the playoff mix in 2020.

Stafford will certainly get enough throws to put up video game numbers. Kenny Golladay can make him look really good in the final box score. The problem is that Stafford also needs to lead the Lions to double-digit wins. That’s why he’s a long shot.

Green Bay Packers: Aaron Rodgers

The narrative that the Packers didn’t get Rodgers any wide receiver help in the draft sets him up nicely for a run at the MVP award. Any scenario where Green Bay wins the division behind a big season from their Hall of Fame quarterback will make tons of postseason headlines for Rodgers.

Remember, the sentiment is a big part of MVP voting. Rodgers can capture the hardware with one more big season.

Minnesota Vikings: Dalvin Cook

Kirk Cousins could have a great year and voters still wouldn’t give him the nod. That makes Cook the only realistic option for the Vikings.

Assuming he clears up his contract issues with the team, he should be in line for a big season. Mike Zimmer wants to predicate his offense on the run. The loss of Diggs at receiver should equal more carries for Cook.
