NFC North

Chicago Bears: DT Steve McMichael

McMichael was drafted by the Patriots in the third round of the 1980 draft but went just one season with them. New England’s loss was Chicago’s gain as the Bears signed McMichael and watched him become an anchor of their defensive line for 13 years. McMichael made five All-Pro appearances and was a key member of the 1985 Bears’ defense which is widely regarded as one of the best in NFL history.

Detroit Lions: WR Golden Tate

The Lions haven’t had a ton of free agent success stories but Tate was a notable exception. After spending the first four years of his career in Seattle Tate signed with Detroit to try and become a more regular presence in the offensive game plan. Tate became one of the NFL’s best slot receivers, recording at least 90 catches in four straight seasons and exceeding 1,000 receiving yards in three of those campaigns.

Green Bay Packers: DE Reggie White

One of the greatest players in franchise history, White helped transform the Packers upon his arrival in 1993. White terrorized quarterbacks in Green Bay, where the Packers won a Super Bowl and got to another. Throughout his six years in Green Bay White made the Pro Bowl and an All-Pro roster in each season.

Minnesota Vikings: CB Antoine Winfield

After spurning an offer to sign with the Jets Winfield agreed to a six-year deal to play in Minnesota. The move paid off for the Vikings as Winfield spent the next nine years with the Vikings, who saw him make three straight Pro Bowls from 2008 through 2010. Winfield was also named one of the 50 greatest Vikings in franchise history in 2010.
