Pick Analysis. P. 2. player. 8. Scouting Report. Arizona Diamondbacks. Archie Bradley

Bradley has continued to vacillate between the closer and setup roles in Arizona, but a weak Diamondbacks bullpen will likely make him the closer once more. Given his 3.52 ERA and 18 saves last year, Bradley is perfect trade deadline material for a bullpen-needy team like Chicago, as Arizona might have a hard time catching the Los Angeles Dodgers in the NL West and could fall behind the Colorado Rockies or San Diego Padres.

Alex Colome is a serviceable closer, and his presence will likely relegate Bradley to a setup role. However, the common thread through most of the World Series winners during the last decade is the fact that their bullpens were deep, especially on the back end. Whatever hopes the White Sox had for success in 2019 were torpedoed by a lackluster collection of relievers.

Bradley and Colome won’t be enough by themselves to totally fix everything, but it’s a start.
