Brandon Kintzler, RP, Miami Marlins. 3. player. 82. . .

Kintzler had bounced around the league for a bit before finally showing that he can hold down a closer role with the Twins in 2016 and 2017, even making an All-Star team on the back of his heavy sinker. After a fine year with the Chicago Cubs in which he threw up a 2.68 ERA, Kintzler signed with the Miami Marlins, where the 35-year-old is expected to handle closing duties. If he matches his quality production from 2019, the Twins should try to flip a prospect or two Miami’s way in exchange for him.

Taylor Rogers is one of baseball’s most underrated relievers, but the Twins’ bullpen was comical last season, as relievers that even the staunchest of fans couldn’t pick out of a lineup were forced to eat up meaningful innings. Kintzler wouldn’t cost a ton, as his age could help the Twins get away with only giving away minor prospects. Meanwhile, he could slide into the eighth inning role behind Rogers if he somehow manages to once again start locking down saves in Miami. Trevor May, Kintzler, and Rogers would be quite a trio at the back end of that bullpen.
