Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Denver Broncos. player. 45. WR. DaeSean Hamilton. 2

Back in 2018, the Denver Broncos’ receiving corps took a hit after the team traded Demaryius Thomas to the Houston Texans. Luckily for them, the Broncos found his replacement in Courtland Sutton, who’s a dangerous weapon downfield. Two years later, the Broncos further bolstered their corps by selecting Alabama’s Jerry Jeudy and Penn State’s KJ Hamler in the 2020 NFL Draft.

Given that Sutton and Jeudy will be the outside receivers and Hamler will line up in the slot, one receiver has got to go. That unlucky individual is DaeSean Hamilton.

The former Nittany Lion has spent two seasons in Denver, but has failed to prove that he deserves to be the team’s number two wide receiver for the foreseeable future. On 97 targets, Hamilton recorded 58 catches for 540 yards and three touchdowns in the past two years. That doesn’t exactly excite any coaching staff, if we’re being honest.

Hamilton will have to do a ton to earn starting snaps in 2020. But given the talent ahead of him, that’s more of a pipe-dream than anything. Once the upcoming season concludes, Hamilton is going to find a new home, whether that’s through a trade or being sent to the open market.
