NBA Mock Draft 6.0: Is anyone’s ceiling higher than Anthony Edwards?
By Ian Levy
The Bulls have a new front-office regime in place and a coaching change that is widely assumed to be coming soon could juice an offense that had plenty of talent and terrible results. On paper, the core is in place with Coby White and Zach LaVine in the backcourt and Wendell Carter Jr. and Lauri Markkanen up front. Carter and White are the only players there who project as plus defenders and the shortcomings of LaVine and Markkanen, even at their respective ceilings, threaten to wipe that away.
Avdija would be an ideal fit, starting at the 3 if Otto Porter Jr. isn’t up to the job and splitting time between both forward positions as they move into their bench units. He’s a terrific defensive prospect with the strength, agility and instincts to handle a variety of positions. On offense, there are big questions about what he can be as a shooter but with the rest of the talent around him, his strong passing, cutting and screening skills could help everyone else take a leap.
