3 players who won’t be on the Packers roster after 2020 season
By Scott Rogust
The Packers haven’t had a quality tight end since the days of Jermichael Finley. Green Bay spent big money on the likes of Martellus Bennett and Jimmy Graham, and both signings blew up in their faces. The Packers learned from their mistakes, but they didn’t really address the position this offseason, other than re-signing veteran Marcedes Lewis to a one-year deal.
Lewis has been with the Packers for the past two years, and he didn’t miss a single game. However, he has a poor production output in his short stint. To be specific, Lewis has caught 18-of-23 targets for 195 yards and a touchdown.
Entering the upcoming season, Lewis is listed as Green Bay’s starting tight end. But that could all change mid-season, as the team has placed a tremendous amount of faith in second-year tight end Jace Sternberger. Considering Lewis is 36 years old, it’s doubtful that Lewis will be returning to Green Bay in 2021.
