3 players who won’t be on the Packers roster after 2020 season

There are plenty of important players for the Green Bay Packers to retain, meaning some will undoubtably be shown the door.
The Green Bay Packers were just one game away from reaching Super Bowl LIV, but were stomped out by the San Francisco 49ers. With glaring needs on the offensive and defensive sides of the ball, you’d expect general manager Brian Gutekunst to make some moves to help the team contend in 2020.
That didn’t happen, as Gutekunst and head coach Matt LaFleur made transactions that help the Packers in the future, not this upcoming season. From drafting a rookie quarterback in the first round to selecting a tight end/fullback hybrid in the third round, Green Bay’s front office had the fanbase scratching their “cheeseheads.”
With the Packers making moves for the future, you can fully expect these three players to not be members of the team in 2021.

Many would think that fellow running back Aaron Jones would make the list, but there’s a possibility that the Packers can lock him in for the foreseeable future. That leaves Jones’ colleague in Jamaal Williams on the outside looking in.
Williams didn’t put up gaudy numbers while carrying the rock, but he made up for it as Green Bay’s pass-catching back. Through his three seasons with the Packers, Williams caught 91-of-120 targets for 725 yards and seven touchdowns.
Even with his success on passing downs, Williams’ chances of remaining in Green Bay are slim. Let’s not forget that the Packers used their second round pick on Boston College running back AJ Dillon, Williams’ obvious replacement. While his days in Green Bay are likely over, Williams won’t be on the open market for long. An NFL team will definitely give him a chance.
