Aaron Rodgers says NFL needs to ‘figure some things out’ to ensure a 2020 season.

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is the latest in a series of NFL players who have voiced their concerns about the upcoming 2020 NFL season. Many players have wondered how the safety protocol will be handled and are looking to the MLB and NBA to set some of the precedences. Rodgers is in the same boat.

“I think top of mind is ‘are we gonna have a season?'” Rodgers said at this weekend’s American Century Championship, according to Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio (h/t The Score) .”I think there’s a lot of things yet to be figured out. We’re hopeful, we’re hopeful that it’s with fans and we can get all the testing procedures down the way they want it for the utmost amount of safety.”

Aaron Rodgers isn’t the only player concerned

Just days ago, Donavan Smith, equated playing the season to being a “lab rat” for the NFL.

For now, players will have to wait for the NFL to announce the plan for the mid-August pre-season start date.

“We’re kind of waiting for the league and the (NFLPA) to figure some things out,” Rodgers said.

It unlikely that Rodgers would sit out the season, but you never know.

The pre-season begins Aug. 18 with the regular season starting on Sept. 13. At press time there had been no official announcement that NFL players could opt out of the season as MLB has allowed.
