This week, the FanDuel/DFS golf community will be presented with an event that will feature an outstanding field of talented golfers, including 15 time major champion Tiger Woods.

Before I discuss my FanDuel player selections I wanted to clearly emphasize that this article will not provide a specific lineup for this week’s PGA Tour event.

Having stated that, this article will present multiple player options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to take down a FanDuel GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest! If I can play a small part in helping someone win than I have achieved my mission!

Here are my FanDuel player selections for the 2020 Memorial Tournament.

Patrick Cantlay $11,600

The American has played six tournaments on the PGA Tour since October 2019. In the six events just mentioned Cantlay has an impressive six top 17 finishes, including a seventh place result at last week’s Workday Charity Open.

It should also be mentioned that Cantlay won the 2019 Memorial Tournament.

Hideki Matsuyama $10,900

In the last eight rounds played on the PGA Tour, with regard to the listed players in the Memorial Tournament field, Matsuyama is third in GIR (greens in regulation), third in strokes gained ball striking, and first in proximity to the hole.

Additionally, I like the fact that Hideki has historically played well at the Memorial Tournament. Matsuyama has played the Memorial six times since 2014. In those six events played, Hideki has four top 13 finishes, including a win in 2014.

Tiger Woods $10,600

Yes, I know that Mr. Woods has not played a competitive golf tournament on the PGA Tour since February. I also know Tiger Woods has 82 tournament wins on the PGA Tour for a reason. The man seems to know how to be both physically and mentally ready to play after a long layoff. That can be illustrated in Woods ninth place result at the Farmers Insurance Open in January of this year. Woods arrived at the Farmers after a three month layoff and performed very well. I expect Tiger will do the same again this week.

Let us not forget that Woods has won the Memorial Tournament a record five times.

Rickie Fowler 10,300

The 31 year old American arrives at this event on the heels of two consecutive top 22 finishes on the PGA Tour. He also finished 14th at the 2019 Memorial Tournament.

Lucas Glover $8,700

He has played four tournaments since the start of June. In those four events played, Glover has four top 23 finishes, including a 20th place result at the Travelers Championship three weeks ago.

Glover currently ranks 27th in strokes gained approach (.492) on the PGA Tour.

Sepp Straka $8,500

The 27 year old Austrian has two consecutive top 14 finishes on the PGA Tour, including an eighth place finish at the Rocket Mortgage Classic two weeks ago.
