15. Oregon Ducks 2013 Pink Helmets

When you talk about alternate uniforms, you have to talk about the Oregon Ducks. From their shoulder designs to their helmet designs, the Ducks have been a pioneer for Nike and college uniforms for years. But even they have had a few mishaps along the way, including 2013. In a midseason game versus Pac-12 foe, the Washington State Cougars, the Oregon Ducks went with a different look for their helmet: hot pink, with a black face mask and a black Oregon “O”.

The helmet itself looked great, especially with the pink and black cleats that matched because everyone knows the shoes have to match the hat. And the uniform the Ducks wore this game were ones that had worn before, and also receive a good grade. But it’s the combination of it all that does not sit well. While the pink helmet and cleats were to raise awareness for breast cancer, you would think that Oregon would have prepared for such a game by having a uniform that instead of that their normal lightning yellow number outline, would have had pink instead.

Seems harsh to put them on the list after all the incredible uniforms they have given us but in recent years their pink uniforms have been quite tasteful and show that it could have been done here in 2013 as well. The Oregon Ducks are the kings of college football uniforms but not even they could avoid making our list.
