Le’Veon Bell blasts Jamal Adams after forcing trade off Jets
By Scott Rogust
The Jets starting running back doesn’t sound too happy about Jamal Adams wanting out of New York.
Safety Jamal Adams wasn’t too happy about that his contract negotiations with the New York Jets went nowhere. So, he opted to voice his displeasure on social media and to the press before Jets general manager Joe Douglas ultimately deemed enough was enough and flipped him to the Seattle Seahawks.
Many NFL players were stunned by the trade of Adams. But when it comes to Jets running back Le’Veon Bell, he’s confused as to why Adams was vouching for him to sign with New York, only to bail one year later. Oh, and Bell seemingly called out the safety for going on social media “for attention.”
Shortly after said tweet, Bell said, “I’m not mad. I’m motivated.”
Adams publicly advocated for Bell to sign with the Jets
After Bell sat out the entirety of the 2018 season to become a free agent, Adams sent out tweets daily to try and sway the former Pittsburgh Steeler to joining the Jets. Thanks to a rather sparse market, Bell agreed to terms with New York on a $52.5 million contract.
Earlier this year, Adams let it be known that he wanted to be moved to another team. From telling a Dallas Cowboys fan that “[he’s] trying” to get flipped to the NFC East squad to talking about the Jets in the past tense. Even with all of that going on, Bell said that after speaking with the Pro Bowl safety, he believed that he wanted to remain with the Jets.
One exclusive interview with the New York Daily News later, and Adams got his wish, as he joins a Super Bowl contender in the Seahawks. You can expect Bell to use this as fuel to bounce back in 2020. The Jets have a way better offensive line than they did last year, so Bell can definitely put up better numbers.
We’ll see who truly gets the last laugh between Bell and Adams, as both teams face off in Week 14 of the 2020 NFL season. Get your popcorn ready, because this game is going to be filled with the drama of a blockbuster film!
