Chicago Bears-Mitchell Trubisky will make 10 starts

The Bears claim they aren’t ready to declare a starting quarterback at this point in the preseason. That’s nonsense. Everyone in and around Chicago knows that head coach Matt Nagy is desperate for Nick Foles to win the job.

The problem is that Foles hasn’t proven he can be a quality starter for a full season either. Injuries and bouts of inconsistent play have prevented him from ever grabbing a starting job for himself. That was an understandable issue for him behind Wentz in Philadelphia. It was a much larger sin when he lost his gig to Gardner Minshew in Jacksonville.

It’s going to be deja vu all over again for Foles this year. He’ll win the job initially, but he’ll stumble early on. That’s why Trubisky will make double-digit starts. Sorry Bears fans, you still don’t have a quality starting quarterback on the roster.

Detroit Lions-Kenny Golladay will go over 1,500 yards receiving

The Lions are quietly poised to have one of the most prolific passing attacks in the NFL this season. Matthew Stafford’s return to health is imperative for Detriot to have any kind of meaningful success. His presence on the field is also crucial for Golladay’s coming out party.

The prediction here is for Stafford to stay healthy and air the ball out in 2020. If he does, Golladay is going to blow past his previous career-high of 1,190 yards receiving. A 1,500-yard season will announce his presence among the truly elite class of NFL wide receivers.
