DraftKings MLB one-off picks:

BvP is one of the most polarizing things among statheads, especially when it comes to daily fantasy games. What it means is going by a batter’s past stats against the night’s pitcher. This can be the best place for mining one-off plays to differentiate your lineups though.

I don’t make it a point to target pitchers like Charlie Morton, but the Braves are a good offense in a park that caters to lefties. Matt Adams and Freddie Freeman make solid one-offs. Marcell Ozuna is off to a hot start and is the only Brave to have homered against Morton in their careers.

Mike Soroka struggled at home last year and the Rays took it to the Braves in the first two games. I’d rather roll out Yoshi Tsutsugo and maybe Brandon Lowe than use Soroka. It’s an unnecessary risk tonight.

Michael Brantley and Carlos Correa are really the only Astros I would consider tonight against May. He might be the best pitcher the Dodgers have active right now.

I don’t trust the Angels enough to stack, even against a pitcher that hasn’t pitched above AA. I have no issues playing Trout, but David Fletcher is about the only other one I would consider. In fact, savvy GPP players will throw Justin Dunn out there in a line or two. He could be a great value at the price. He could also lose you ten points.

No one really projects all that well against Andrew Heaney, but I know he’s going to give up some runs. Lewis and Seager are the Seattle hitters to target here. Heaney has strikeout upside, but there’s really no reason to take a risk like him with all the good pitching to go around.

Eovaldi was good enough in his first start that I’m not going to stack on him, but Wilson Ramos and Yoenis Cespedes both have hit him well if not hard. They are in play tonight.

Christian Yelich ($5,900) vs. Joe Musgrove: 5-13(.385), 2B, 3B, HR, 3 R, 4 RBI
Ben Gamel ($3,000) vs. Joe Musgrove: 4-11(.364), 2B, HR, 3 R, RBI
C.J. Cron ($3,200) vs. Danny Duffy: 5-14(.357), 2B, 2 HR, 3 R, 2 RBI
Miguel Cabrera ($3,000) vs. Danny Duffy: 11-44(.250), 10 BB, 3 2B, 6 R, 8 RBI
Paul Goldschmidt ($4,400) vs. Rich Hill: 8-18(.444), BB, HR, 4 R, 3 RBI

Whit is the only lock of the day for me. I’ll have plenty of Twins righties and a fair share of Yankees as well.
