3 teams that should trade for Yannick Ngakoue after he didn’t show up to Jags camp

The New York Jets makes too much sense. Just like the Jaguars, the Jets had a player on the roster who didn’t want to be there. Jamal Adams seemingly held a grudge against the team after general manager Joe Douglas fielded offers for him at last season’s trade deadline. One bombshell interview with the New York Daily News, and Adams received his wish in the form of a trade to Seattle.
Now, the Jets are sitting on four first-round draft picks in the next two years. Giving an insane amount of money to a safety wasn’t really ideal, no matter how good of a player Adams is. Instead, Douglas can focus on improving a weakness on the defensive side of the ball: the edge rush.
Ngakoue is a player who logged 37.5 sacks in his first four years in the NFL, which is certainly impressive. Additionally, he can work opposite of 2019 third overall pick Quinnen Williams and potentially get the best out of each other. While other teams can get Ngakoue for a cheaper draft package, Douglas flipping one of his newly-acquired first-round selections could give the Jaguars more incentive to move on from him. Then, the Jets can lock in Ngakoue long-term. It makes too much sense for Ngakoue to don “Gang Green” in 2020 and beyond.
