DraftKings MLB picks July 31: Castillo is a steal yo!
By Mike Marteny
DraftKings MLB Stack Options:
New York Yankees vs. Ryan Weber:
Yeah, Weber pitched well against the Yankees last year. He also got throttled by the lowly Orioles in the opener, who by the way, struggle against right-handed pitching. Everyone can hit Weber. Stanton, Judge, and DJ LeMahieu leading off are the main targets, but don’t be afraid to get creative.
Tampa Bay Rays vs. Tommy Milone:
The Rays, particularly Mike Zunino clobber lefties. This is superb hitting weather against a terrible pitcher. Speaking of Zunino, he has three homers and seven RBI against Milone in just 13 at bats. Kiermaier is 5-7 with a homer. I really like Willy Adames, Jose Martinez, Hunter Renfroe, Yandy Diaz, and even Yoshi. Stack away because this bullpen is garbage too!
NOTE: Alex Cobb may start this game instead. If he does, prioritize lefties a little more, but don’t be afraid to stack Cobb’s former team against him.
Chicago White Sox vs. Kris Bubic:
The White Sox hit lefties well and this lefty has never pitched above A ball. Eloy Jimenez and Yoan Moncada are the elite plays here. Tim Anderson, Luis Robert, and Abreu are worth a look as well. You can even put some lefties in there if you want because the Royals bullpen isn’t very good. There’s a lot to like about the White Sox tonight.
Colorado Rockies vs. Garrett Richards:
The Rockies finally get to go home. Coors usually starts slow for offense, but it wont this year. Baseballs fly out of Coors in the summer months. This will be no exception, especially with a guy that doesn’t have great stuff in Richards. It’s time to pay up for some Rockies. That offense is going to go off tonight.
Chicago Cubs vs. Trevor Williams:
The Cubs smash Trevor Williams. They are hitting .308 with nine homers and 27 runs in 143 at bats and a large chunk of that damage has been done at Wrigley. Schwarber has three of those homers, so lock him in. Kris Bryant has two if you’re willing to use him despite the early slump. Albert Almora, Rizzo, Baez, and Jason Heyward have all homered off of Williams as well. The only Cub I wouldn’t use here is David Ross, and that’s only because he’s not on DraftKings. I bet he could still take Williams deep.
