4. Tennessee Volunteers

The Tennessee Volunteers have done a fantastic job with a simple orange and white color scheme, and their uniforms put a modern spin on a vintage look. The font on the numbering prevents the Volunteers from looking too old-fashioned, and the white-on-white combination looks fantastic.

While the Volunteers have arguably one of the cleanest looks in the SEC, their simple color scheme sinks them a little bit. A tertiary color would give Tennessee a ton of versatility as far as creating an alternate jersey, and an all-black uniform with orange numbering could help the Volunteers climb the ladder in the conference’s uniform power rankings.

However, Tennessee does not truly need to shake up their look. It’s classic and modern at the same time, which is a line that most teams have a hard time walking. The Volunteers pull it off well enough to have the fourth-best uniforms in the SEC.

3. Alabama Crimson Tide

Alabama has the most classic look in the conference, and the Crimson Tide’s legacy of success is enough to make fans associate the red and white look with national titles. However, their uniforms are probably the plainest on this list.

Like Tennessee, the Crimson Tide have no reason to change up their look. Nick Saban’s squad has run the SEC for the better part of a decade, and Alabama’s simple look still intimidates opponents. However, a simple color scheme again limits their ability to move up on this list.

There’s nothing wrong with a classic look that’s been around for decades. In fact, it’s a big reason why the Crimson Tide check in at third on this list. Teams like the Boston Celtics, Dallas Cowboys, and New York Yankees will never change up their uniforms, and Alabama is in that same class.
