NBA DFS picks August 7: Shake your Milton
Once again, DraftKings and FanDuel chopped off the early game for the NBA DFS tournament. This time it was a mercy killing. Utah is out-Spurring the Spurs by resting every starter on the front end of a back to back. We don’t need that kind of disaster on the main slate. For once, I’m glad they chopped it off!
Let’s see who else isn’t involved in the main slate.
Out: Ben Simmons (knee), Aaron Gordon (hamstring), Jaren Jackson (knee), Dennis Schroder (paternity), Jonathan Issac (knee), Jamal Crawford (hamstring), Big Dog III (hip), Tyus Jones (knee), Garrison Mathews (opt out), Justise Winslow (hip), Mike Muscala (concussion), Turd Ferugson (leg), Wilson Chandler (opt out), Kevin Durant (Achilles), DeAndre Jordan (opt out), Kyrie Irving (shoulder), Spencer Dinwiddie (opt out), Taurean Prince (coronavirus), Marvin Bagley (foot), Ryan Broekhoff (opt out), Zhaire Smith (knee), Al-Farouq Aminu (knee), Darius Miller (Achilles), Josh Gray (opt out), John Wall (Achilles), Brad Beal (shoulder), Davis Bertans (opt out), Patrick McCaw (knee), Oshae Brissett (knee).
Questionable: Jarrett Allen (ankle), Joe Harris (groin), Mike Scott (knee), Michael Carter-Williams (foot).
FanDuel is very balanced today across all positions, which makes for a nice build. The only problem over there is at center, where you can only have one.
Harden was 61% owned in The DraftKings donkey last night, but you weren’t placing if you didn’t have him. My Indy-Phoenix game stack with Harden-McLemore was my best line. The scores were insanely high with the cash line at 308. All but two of my lineups cleared that, but none cleared 330.
Back by popular demand is the trifecta, where I attempt to pick the top three point scorers of the day. Again, I only had one of the three yesterday, and Harden finished second, Lillard dropped 80. Michael Porter tied with Giannis for third.
Today is tough for the trifecta again because there is only one top option, so I’ll go with Embiid as the top scorer. For the next two, I’ll go with Fox and Holiday.
