NBA DFS guard plays

Today doesn’t feel like a day to pay up for guards. Chris Paul is as high as I would go on either side and it’s all because Schroder is out. Ja Morant has higher upside, but he’s off and on. You know the drill if you use him. I wouldn’t touch Ja in cash games.

De’Aaron Fox has had three huge games in the bubble. The only team that held him in check was Orlando. The Nets were one of the worst teams against point guards when they were at full strength. This looks like another monster for Fox. Maybe for Bogdan Bogdanovic too, considering he had a career-high yesterday with five minutes left in the third quarter. Just be prepared for recency bias turning into high ownership.

Caris LeVert carries the Nets. If you pair him with Fox, which is turning into my favorite build on either site, there is huge upside. Both are capable of duds, but neither team plays defense. This is going to be a high scoring game and NBA DFS gold mine. I’ll have at least one game stack of this one.

SGA has become a cash cow for cash games. His four games in the bubble have varied only five fantasy points from best to worst. He’s right at 5x value, which will double you up every time.

Kemba will be playing limited minutes again, which makes the Boston backcourt unplayable for their prices. Marcus Smart at $5,500 on FanDuel makes him worth a look, but they are all priced up on DraftKings.

The Sixers losing Ben Simmons doesn’t mean much for Shake Milton since he was starting at the point anyway. Let others chase Shake. This will have more of an effect on Embiid and Al Horford. Speaking of which, Horford looks very tempting right now.

Troy Brown and Dillon Brooks continue to be excellent plays in the mid-range prices. I prefer Brown because of the matchup and the upside, but Brooks has arguably the higher ceiling. Brown is just far more consistent and he’s still priced down on both sites.

If you want to gamble with Washington point guards, Ish Smith is still the guy to have. His price is reasonable enough, but the upside is capped with him coming off the bench. From just the price standpoint, I prefer Jerome Robinson and the upside, but he’s not a PG on FanDuel.

Is Grayson Allen still a secret? Judging by ownership last game, he kind of is. He’s not going to blow you away with his point totals, but he frees up a lot dropping 30 fantasy points for that cheap. Fellow Duke alum J.J. Redick is still worth using too if you’re punting a guard slot.

Luguentz Dort isn’t going to put up huge stat lines, but he’s still hitting 6x value when he’s that cheap. If you find yourself strapped for cash, go Luguentz hunting.
