The Saints were ready to roll with Bryant in some sort of role down the stretch of the 2018 season, then he tore his Achilles and any plans went way instantly. Last last season, likely with  an eye on the playoffs if the league had resolved his situation, they brought Antonio Brown in for a workout. Of course nothing came of that with Brown at that time, but it’s worth wondering if they’d circle back to him now that things are clearer.

New Orleans did move to address their need for a more legit No. 2 wide receiver this offseason, signing Emmanuel Sanders in free agency. But they are  lined up to be all-in, Super Bowl or bust for what’s looking somewhat likely to be Drew Brees’ last season. Assuming a complete season is played of course. In any case, the idea of adding another weapon in order to compete fully on a level with the best teams in the NFC, and the league as a whole, is not far-fetched.

As much as he could be choosy, Bryant would surely choose to play with a great quarterback and on a team with legit Super Bowl aspirations at this point. The Saints and Brees fit that template, and they could very easily be interested in bringing him back in for a look after the truncated first go-round.
