Hunter Dozier opened up about his experience with COVID-19.

After recovering from COVID-19, Royals third baseman Hunter Dozier gave details of his experience with the virus. Dozier said that he and his wife had symptoms that lingered for over a week.

Overall, Dozier is just happy that his children never contracted the virus. His parents originally tested positive earlier this summer. Hopefully, his family’s experience with the virus is now over.

Dozier is just another example of why COVID-19 needs to be taken extremely seriously. Dozier is a professional athlete, but still had a tough experience with the virus. It just goes to show that it can be dangerous to anyone that contracts it, no matter who you are.

He’s been on the IL since July 22, when he first tested positive for the virus. Dozier will make his 2020 debut on Sunday against the Twins.

Dozier is an important part of this Royals team.

Dozier is coming off a breakout season in 2019, when he batted .279 with 26 home runs and 84 RBI. He finished third on the team in WAR, with a solid 3.2.

At 28, Dozier is part of a promising young core the Royals are building, along with the likes of Jorge Soler and Adalberto Mondesi.

So far, the Royals are 6-10 and sit in last place in their division. Dozier will look to help turn things around for Kansas City with his return. If the Royals want to push for a position in the extended playoff format, they’ll need Dozier to be at his best.
