NBA DFS guard plays

The Beard has only hit value in Game 3 of this series. What was so different about that game? The Rockets lost. Harden had to keep his team in it. Game 4 could be a situation where Harden takes over. I’m probably going to use him once just in case he has a game like he did in Game 3, but I still wont hinge my entire day on him.

I still wont pay for Lillard or CJ though. Lillard broke loose a little in Game 3, but his price is still untenable on DraftKings, especially if you plan on using Harden or Giannis. Lillard is priced fairly enough on FanDuel that I don’t mind throwing one punch with him if you’re game.

Jimmy Butler is one of the finer plays for the price, but I’m relegating him to cash game duty only. Butler doesn’t have a ton of upside on a team as deep as the Heat. Butler will consistently get you between 35-45 points, but he likely wont top that number. That limits his true value, especially when there are a few guys cheaper than him that have a higher ceiling.

Both CP3 and SGA finally put together a good game for both and it turned into a win. That said, SGA is the guy you want. He did far more than Paul did and he’s still cheaper. As far as that goes, I’d play Dennis Schroder over Paul right now. If Adams is out, we could see all three on the court for extended periods of time.

I was all-in on Malcolm Brogdon in Game 3 and it paid off. I’ll be running a lot of both him and Goran Dragic again today. Dragic is playing far too well to let Nunn eat in on his action just yet.

DraftKings has gone crazy with the price of Eric Gordon, but he’s still a solid play on FanDuel if you are willing to sacrifice a SF slot. This is one of the days where I still wish he was a SG over there.

I love the upside of Terrence Ross, but I’ve been on the wrong side of the Fultz/Augustin split in each of the first three games. I’m not touching it today. If you have a strong feeling about it, I hope that you guess better than I do.

If you are digging for deep value at guard, it’s full of land mines. KCP is probably the safest, but the upside is very minimal. At least he has hit value the last two games though.
