2. Bruce Arians is an underrated head coach

It is still crazy to think that there was a world where Arians never became an NFL head coach. After winning a pair of Super Bowl rings as the Steelers’ offensive coordinator in the 2000s, Arians was set to retire after the 2011 season before Chuck Pagano convinced him to come to mentor Andrew Luck with the Indianapolis Colts.

Pagano’s cancer diagnosis during the season led Arians to be the interim head coach, where he guided the Colts to the playoffs. That opportunity led the Arizona Cardinals to name Arians their head coach, where he built them into a consistent contender.

After a one-year layoff Arians came back to Tampa Bay, where he got great offensive performance out of a turnover-prone quarterback in Winston. Upgrading from Winston to Brady, one of the NFL’s greatest passers, should be a lot of fun for Arians in 2020.

There is still a bit of adjustment that will have to happen for Arians, who loves to push the ball down the field, to Brady’s game, which is based more on quick hitters and intermediate routes. Arians is too smart a coach to not be able to adapt and his new gameplans should put the Buccaneers in position to rack up plenty of wins.
