Madden players will be able to use Colin Kaepernick, as he’s officially been once again added to the game

For everyone who missed using Colin Kaepernick for their Madden games, good news has arrived on Tuesday. The former Pro Bowl quarterback is back in the game.

EA announced that the former San Francisco 49ers signal-caller has indeed been added as a free agent. It’s the first time since 2016, Kaepernick’s last season in the NFL, that he’s been featured in Madden.

Interestingly enough, EA has given Kaepernick an 81 rating. That number is higher than multiple starters in the league right now.

Colin Kaepernick’s Madden rating is higher than multiple players starting this weekend

Among the quarterbacks Kaepernick has a higher rating than includes Kyler Murray, Cam Newton, Ryan Tannehill, Baker Mayfield, Derek Carr, Teddy Bridgewater and multiple others.

Despite once leading the 49ers to the Super Bowl, Kaepernick, 32 years old, hasn’t played since the 2016 campaign and remains a free agent. Teams have shown interest in him since, but nothing has ever materialized.

Kaepernick was of course the first player to ever kneel during the National Anthem four years ago, doing so in protest of racial injustices in the United States. Since then, he’s helped start a movement, with plenty of other professional athletes following his lead in using their platforms to protest police brutality. Just last month, we saw multiple teams and players across multiple sports boycott games after Jacob Blake was shot by police in Wisconsin seven times.

Kaepernick has adamantly said he’d be open to a shot with a team if the opportunity presents itself. While fans may have to keep on waiting to see him on an NFL sideline, that won’t be the case if you decide to use him for Madden.
