5. Boston Scott (PHI)

Game: Philadelphia Eagles at Washington Football Team (Sunday, 9/13,1:00pm EST)

We now enter the more drowsy section of the sleeper pool.

Boston Scott is a diminutive man, but he plays tenacious willpower. He is a sure-thing as a second running back on the Eagles depth chart as Miles Sanders has an invitation to a sophomore breakout party.

What’s more, Washington possessed the league’s second-worst run defense last year. Scott is an admirable play this week if you’re abnormally strapped at running back.

6. Jalen Richard (LV)

Game: Las Vegas Raiders at Carolina Panthers (Sunday, 9/13,1:00pm EST)

The Panthers’ rushing defense was horrid in 2019. The team allowed 31 rushing touchdowns, which is borderline unfathomable.

Raiders teammate Josh Jacobs is the bonafide RB1, but Richard should get some relief touches or mop-up duty. This could be profitable as an already-bad Carolina defense no longer has linebacker Luke Kuechly in the middle of its defense.

7. Brian Hill (ATL)

Game: Seattle Seahawks at Atlanta Falcons (Sunday, 9/13,1:00pm EST)

We’re all pretty sure that former Las Angeles Rams halfback will be showcased in the Falcons offense during 2020, but Hill is an apt ball-carrier in his own right. If the Falcons happen to split workload the more than Gurley owners prefer, Hill at RB2 becomes the instant benefactor.

Hill will get some touches against a Seahawks defense. Seattle’s defense is always assumed to be stingy, but that’s largely a reputational diagnosis. They ranked 22nd in rushing yards allowed in 2019.
