We think you’re better than this, Carson Wentz, so prove us right, man.

Carson Wentz is single-handedly letting the Washington Football Team stick around in Week 1.

Though the Philadelphia Eagles are the defending NFC East champions, they may not end up repeating because the Dallas Cowboys have a strong team as well. However, the biggest reason the Eagles can repeat is because of their quarterback. Too bad he was seeing ghosts like he’s Sam Darnold or something vs. Washington. It was not a banner day for the Eagles’ signal-caller at all.

Should the Philadelphia Eagles start to be concerned about Carson Wentz?

Well, it’s not great having to sweat ball games in the second half vs. Dwayne Haskins, Ron Rivera and the rest of the Washington Football Team. Wentz threw two interceptions, fumbled a football and was sacked eight times.

While the pass rush is Washington’s strength, Wentz was completely and mentally checked out of this ball game. He is the face of the franchise. Do better.

The narrative of him being a top-five quarterback in football is officially dead. The 2017 season when he was serious NFL MVP candidate looks to have been a Derek Carr mirage. If you’re supposedly the best quarterback in your own division, go out and prove it with a dominating performance over a team that doesn’t even have a name yet. Why are you playing this badly?

Though Philadelphia may benefit from playing in a weak division, you can’t exactly be thrilled what you’ve seen out of The Birds today. Statistically, Haskins has had a better game up to this point over Wentz. This is a quarterback Rivera may end up replacing in the starting lineup with Alex Smith, who still can’t even believe he’s walking these days. Wentz needs to get it right fast.

There was no urgency from him and no awareness whatsoever. You can’t just cakewalk into FedEx Field and have the Washington Football Team hand you a victory. 2017 was three years ago, and it’s time to prove you’re the franchise quarterback capable of winning the Eagles their second Lombardi Trophy.

If the Eagles get more nonchalantness out of Wentz this season, they’re going to have a bad time.
