Russell Wilson connected with DK Metcalf on a perfectly thrown ball to extend Seattle’s lead against the Atlanta Falcons.
You want to talk about dropping a ball right into your bread basket, that’s exactly what Russell Wilson just did in his Week 1 showdown against the Atlanta Falcons. With the Seattle Seahawks facing 4th-and-5 from the Falcons’ 38-yard line, Pete Carroll decided to go for it and Wilson came up big.
On the play, the star signal-caller tossed an absolute dime to second-year receiver DK Metcalf, who came down with the ball for a glorious touchdown. In case you missed it, check out the outstanding touchdown play below.
And DK Metcalf totally makes up for it.

DK Metcalf and Russell Wilson are making things looks easy against the Falcons
As you can see, Wilson put a perfect lob on that ball and Metcalf was able to come down with the sweet Grab. On that same drive, Metcalf let a ball hit him right in the chest and dropped it. However, he didn’t hang his head and made a couple of big catches soon after, highlighted by his touchdown grab.
The Wilson-Metcalf connection put Seattle up 21-12. Since then, Wilson has added a touchdown throw to Greg Olsen, his first with the Seahawks, to put the team up 28-12. The offense is cooking right now for the Seahawks in Atlanta, which is a great sign of things to come moving forward.
Wilson is slinging the ball around with ease and Metcalf is showcasing what makes him such a playmaker in this offense. All is well in Week 1 for Seattle.
