Can a guy who already “broke out”, re-break out? Yes, this list is angled towards the diamond in the ruff, more unknown players. However, Dereck Carr might be the sparkling diamond lying around waiting to be snatched up.

Carr has not been able to be the quarterback he was back in 2015 and 2016. He made the Pro Bowl three years in a row from 15-17, but those two years were by far his best. Since then, he has lost games and done so looking rather pedestrian.

But, last year, Carr quietly put a solid season together and had the Raiders competing for a Wild Card spot for a minute. He threw for the most yards of his career and knocked out the best completion-percentage of his six-year career as well.

In the team’s Week 1 win against the Carolina Panthers, Carr was 22/30 with 239 yards and one score. He did not throw an interception. The offense was played through the run game more, but Carr did break off a few big gains to Henry Ruggs.

Now, the Raiders will play the New Orleans Saints in a primetime matchup on Monday Night Football. A team not known to really get after it defensively. With weapons like Josh Jacobs, Darren Waller, and if Ruggs is healthy, Carr could be a very good fantasy quarterback to look to add and start if you do not like your current signal callers matchup. This game may become a scoring slugfest.
