Broncos running back Phillip Lindsay suffered a foot injury and is questionable to return to Monday Night Football.

The Denver Broncos are hoping to get out of Monday night’s battle against the Tennessee Titans, but they might have to settle with getting out free of any more costly injuries.

Running back Phillip Lindsay never emerged from the locker room at halftime and now we know why. He is questionable to return with a foot injury.

Lindsay is the second starter lost by the Broncos, who were already playing without Von Miller and Courtland Sutton. They also had cornerback A.J. Bouye go down before half time with a shoulder injury.

Phillip Lindsay suffered a foot injury at some point during the first half.

It’s not clear just when Lindsay picked up the injury. He had seven carries for 24 yards in the first half. His last carry of the night was a one-yard gain at the Titans two-yard line.

The Broncos will turn to Melvin Gordon as their primary rushing weapon. He hasn’t exactly taken to the Denver offense yet. His fumble early in the second quarter set up the lone Titans touchdown of the half.

Still, as far as second options, Tennessee could do far worse than Gordon. He racked up 4,2040 yards over five years with the Chargers. He became a free agent after the 2019 season and signed with the Broncos in March.

In both of his seasons in the league, Lindsay produced a 1,000-yard rushing total. He was a Pro Bowl selection as a rookie in 2018 and broke 29 tackles in 2019.

The Broncos are fortunate the Titans have had such a horrific night in the kicking game. Had Stephen Gostkowski hit any of his three field goal attempts, Tennessee would have a lead as great as nine points.

Instead, the Broncos and Titans went into the fourth quarter tied 7-7.
