5. John Brown (BUF)

Game: Los Angeles Rams at Buffalo Bills (Sunday, 9/27, 1:00 pm EST)

Well, well, well. Stefon Diggs didn’t need the Vikings after all to be his own man. With Diggs escalating his stardom in western New York, John Brown should, in theory, see easier matchups. Diggs is tied for the league lead in receiving yards with the Falcons’ Calvin Ridley, and John Brown is shaping up to be a terrific Robin to the Diggsian Batman.

Quarterback Josh Allen is maturing before our eyes, and both Brown and Diggs are reaping the benefits. The 30-year-old Brown will have another impressive showing at home vs. the Rams.

6. Larry Fitzgerald (ARI)

Game: Detroit Lions at Arizona Cardinals (Sunday, 9/27, 3:25 pm EST)

Two reasons to start Fitzgerald if you’re slim at WR2 or FLEX: First, teams will eventually realize that DeAndre Hopkins deserves ample attention in Kliff Kingsbury’s offense. This will free up the sure-handed Fitzgerald.

Next, fellow wideout Christian Kirk has been ruled out for this Sunday’s contest. By default, Fitzgerald will see more targets against a leaky Lions defense.

7. Kenrick Bourne (SF)

Game: San Francisco 49ers at New York Giants (Sunday, 9/27,1:00 pm EST)

It’s slim pickings at the wide receiver position for the 49ers, and it’s slim pickings for the 49ers roster as a whole. The team has been ravaged by injuries to players with enormous job descriptions.

Backup quarterback Nick Mullens gets the nod this week in Jimmy Garoppolo’s absence, and he’ll sling it to a pass-catching corps sans George Kittle and Deebo Samuel. Kendrick Bourne notched just over 10 PPR points last week, and that will increase against the Giants.
