In Week 1, Blake Jarwin was slated to be the starting tight end for the Dallas Cowboys. He was a sleeper in fantasy football as well. Although, during the team’s first game, he went down with a season-ending injury.

That left the door open for Dalton Schultz. In Week 2, he was only targeted four times for one catch and 11 yards. Not great.

In Week 2 during the team’s thrilling comeback win against the Atlanta Falcons, Schultz saw 10 targets. He caught nine of those for 88 yards and one score. A night and day performance for a player who should be rostered higher than he is. He did fumble once.

We have seen it in the past with this team. No matter the head coach, offensive coordinator, or quarterback, the Cowboys always feel like they love to get tight ends involved in the vertical attack.

Week 4, the Cowboys will play the Cleveland Browns. So far, the Browns have allowed tight ends to haul in three scores against them, and opponents have targeted this position frequently vs the Browns, which is a great sign for Schultz.

The Browns have a steady defense, but they are vulnerable through the air. With the way Kellen Moore designs his offense, and the talent the Cowboys boast on that side of the ball, Schultz could have a day similar to the one he had against the Falcons.

With Ezekiel Elliott establishing the run, and the Browns paying attention to the team’s trio of receivers, Schultz can see a high volume in Week 4.
