College football DFS picks October 1: Take home some Cougars
By Mike Marteny
College football DFS wide receiver picks October 1:
Top Tier:
Receiver is likely going to be the position that sets most entries apart on this slate. Gunner Romney is averaging more than 30 yards per catch over two games. Louisiana Tech is going to have their hands full with him. The smart money is on Romney getting deep at least once in this one as well.

Middle Tier:
There are plenty of passes to go around in this Wake offense. That said, Taylor Morin is too cheap compared to Jaquarii Roberson. You’ll get almost the same out of Morin for $1,500 less. That’s important on a slate like this.
We have no reason to think that BYU wont keep airing it out against Louisiana Tech. Romney is the best bet on the slate, but Dax Milne could come close to Romney’s totals. He even has six carries this year!
Bargain Shoppers:
Adrian Hardy is a beast. We all know that. What we don’t know is how good BYU’s secondary really is. Navy couldn’t test them and Troy didn’t. Part of that is because the Cougar secondary is good. However, Hardy is easily the best receiver to face them and Anthony is easily the best QB. I like Hardy quite a bit here.
Smoke Harris wins the best name competition. I actually think he may end up with a better score than Hardy since Hardy will draw most of the attention. Griffin Hebert is a solid play too since he has the most red zone targets so far.
Campbell really doesn’t throw much. When they do, it usually goes the way of Jalen Kelsey. Every Campbell receiver is a boom-or-bust proposition. Kelsey is the safe option. Austin Hite hauled in an 87-yard touchdown last week, but that was just his second catch in three games.
