4. Aaron Rodgers, QB (Green Bay Packers)

Last Week’s Ranking: 5th (+1)

Highest Ranking of Season: 2nd (-2)

2020 Stats: 887 Passing Yards, 9 Passing TDs, 0 INTs, 64.6% Comp, 121.1 Passer Rating

The Green Bay Packers have played three opponents with a combined record of 2-7. This has not been a trying section of their schedule, although a glance at these three games mere weeks ago would have suggested differently.

So, Aaron Rodgers is beating up on teams that evidently deserved to be trounced. In each week — against the Vikings, Lions, and Saints — Rodgers has toyed with opposing secondaries to the tune of a 121.1 passer rating. He’s also pals with a running back, Aaron Jones, that is following up a 2019 breakout season with another top-notch campaign.

The loud whispers heading into this season indicated Rodgers was a man sans appropriate weapons behind him to get the job done. So far, that is false. We know Davante Adams is a tremendous pass-catcher and fellow wideouts Allen Lazard and Marquez Valdes-Scantling are truly blossoming.

It remains odd that rookie quarterback Jordan Love was added to this Green Bay team unless the front office has a plan to kick the tires on Utah State product far into the future. Rodgers is currently making Packers brass appear moronic for drafting a replacement quarterback.
