Bill O’Brien screwed the Texans more than we already knew

The Houston Texans finally decided to part ways with Bill O’Brien, but the negative impact he’s left on the organization truly is stunning. 

Prayers were answered for the countless Houston Texans fans out there who were hoping the team would finally decide to fire head coach and general manager Bill O’Brien. That’s because on Monday, the front office decided to pull the plug on its O’Brien experiment and canned him.

While there may be celebrations going on all over Texas with O’Brien officially gone, you can’t forget about all the nonsensical decisions O’Brien made while he was in charge. The recaps of moves he made will surely anger the die-hards out there.

Bill O’Brien’s time with the Houston Texans came with plenty of questionable calls fans won’t be forgetting soon

As you can see in the tweet above, O’Brien’s big trades continue to break Houston hearts. The return the Texans got in those deals doesn’t even come close to what the team sent out of town.

With Deshaun Watson running the offense, the Houston faithful expected this team to get off to a hot start this season. Instead, they’ve sputtered to an 0-4 record, which surely helped open the door for the organization to terminate O’Brien’s contract. This is a team that had superstar power throughout the lineup, with Watson, De’Andre Hopkins, Jadeveon Clowney and JJ Watt all once suiting up together.

Yet, O’Brien could never make them serious contenders and the embarrassing start to 2020 was more than enough to send him on his way. Thanks to O’Brien’s absurd decision making, Houston now looks like it’s on its way to a rebuild. A few years back, this team had the makings to be one of the more electric teams in the league. That’s no longer the case.
