5. Lamar Jackson, QB (Baltimore Ravens)

Last Week’s Ranking: 5th

Highest Ranking of Season: 2nd (-3)

2020 Stats: 769 Passing Yards, 7 Passing TDs, 1 INTs, 68.4% Comp, 111.3 Passer Rating, 235 Rushing Yards, 1 Rushing TD

The Baltimore Ravens did what was expected of them following their defeat to the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs — they rebounded by flogging a bottom-feeding team. The Washington Football team trailed 31-10 before adding a meaningless touchdown late in the fourth quarter. The Ravens downed the Football Team, 31-17.

Jackson was marvelous. He tallied three total touchdowns on 193 passing yards and 53 rushing yards. He also threw his first interception of 2020, but it had virtually no bearing on the final outcome of the contest.

From a passer rating standpoint, Jackson sits right in the middle of the top ten of his peers. He’s also the beholder of an astute 78.0 QBR, which is slightly better than Cowboys quarterback, Dak Prescott — a man that is accumulating gaudy numbers in losing efforts.

The 23-year-old Jackson has 235 rushing yards on the season — more than David Johnson, David Montgomery, Miles Gaskin, and Devin Singletary– all running backs.

The Ravens head home in Week 5 for a date with rookie Joe Burrow and the Bengals.
