It took a bit, but the Cleveland Browns are finally enjoying Odell Beckham perform at his fullest.

Remember when everyone was saying that the Cleveland Browns would trade away star receiver Odell Beckham Jr. at some point? That talk has dominated the city of Cleveland and the NFL for the past year, but the former New York Giants wideout is proving why he’s worth keeping for the long haul, especially on Sunday.

In the second quarter against the Indianapolis Colts, quarterback Baker Mayfield stood inside a clear pocket and waited for an opening downfield. Mayfield saw Beckham and threw a bullet pass his direction. Beckham leaped over Colts safety Tavon Wilson, secured the throw and somehow got to his feet after nearly getting his head taken off!

The Browns are reaping the benefits of the Odell trade

There was high expectations for the Browns once they acquired Beckham last year. Yet, Cleveland’s offense never reached it’s full potential, mostly due to the play-calling of then-head coach Freddie Ktichens and an ineffective offensive line. 2020 is a different story.

Entering Week 5, Beckham managed to haul in 16-of-30 targets for 236 yards and three touchdowns. His biggest game of the 2020 campaign came last week against the putrid defense of the Dallas Cowboys. Beckham caught five passes for 81 yards and two scores, while also rushing for 73 yards and a touchdown on two carries.

Beckham continues to prove that he’s not your average NFL athlete. He’s superhuman, and you best believe the Browns are happy to have him.
