Pick Analysis. Adam Gase. player. 3. 30. Scouting Report. Head Coach. New York Jets

Let’s just beat this into the ground until it becomes fact — Adam Gase is incredibly bad as a coach. Not only have the Jets started the season 0-5, but the former Dolphins head coach has shown his fear of going for the win by settling for the easy points. Already a controversial hire for his lack of success with Miami, this should be an easy firing for the Johnson family, right?

Ehh…

For some reason, Jets owner Christopher Johnson continues to back Gase as an “offensive genius” that’s struggled in MetLife. Even at full-strength, the team’s woes would likely keep them in the bottom five of every offensive category. Perhaps the best thing that’s happened to Sam Darnold this season is injuring his shoulder so he won’t be suiting up to run Gase’s system and ruin his confidence even more.

With rumors swirling that the Jets could move on from Darnold, the writing is on the wall for Gase in the Big Apple. Since becoming a head coach, his record sits at 30-39, and quarterbacks have thrived instead of crumbled outside his play-calling. With his “genius” play design, New York has averaged a league-low 15 points per game, lost to a third-string quarterback, and punted on 4th-and-1 twice in a 30-10 loss to Arizona.

Gase is as good as gone. The question now is when…and the answer should be last year.
