5. Stafford puts up wonderful numbers in Jacksonville

Poor Matthew Stafford. He’s been part of an organization that can’t quite figure it out — for a decade. The most recent head coach hire, Matt Patricia, isn’t panning out and will lose his job in early January. Detroit may be headed for a familiar process, a full rebuild. If Stafford is lucky, the team will cut ties with him and send him somewhere New England or Indianapolis. He shouldn’t be asked to proffer the patience for another rebuild.

As far as Week 6 of 2020 goes, Stafford will have a tremendous showing. Jacksonville ranks 28th in the NFL via passing yards allowed. We verifiably know that Stafford can produce passing yards. The Lions-Jaguars contest could veer off into mini-shootout territory if Garnder Minshew II brings his A-game.

Marvin Jones is overdue for a productive game. Kenny Golladay is said to be healthy. Tight end T.J. Hockenson is a first-round talent. Let’s go with Stafford throwing for 270+ yards and three scores.

A quick glance at the Week 6 docket of games ensures this one has limited sex appeal. Although, the Jets-Dolphins tryst in Miami is the most uninspiring.

If Stafford and the Lions cannot rack up offensive output against the Jaguars, Patricia might be unemployed by Election Day.
