Carlos Correa came through and hit a walk-off homer to force a Game 6 in the ALCS.

The Houston Astros always seem to find a way to win. The team looked like it was headed for an early October exit down 3-0 in the series to the Tampa Bay Rays, but they took Game 4 and Carlos Correa came to the plate in Game 5 with a chance to win it.

Correa proceeded to mash a home run, stare it down, and flip his bat as the Astros took home a 4-3 victory to force a Game 6.

Carlos Correa is the hero in Houston

This game was close throughout and could have gone either way. The Rays tied it at 3-3 in the eighth inning with a Ji-Man Choi home run and failed to capitalize on a leadoff single in the top of the ninth.

Then came the bottom of the ninth inning and anyone who has watched the Astros since 2017 knows this lineup is stacked with talent. A losing record and all the drama surrounding the team doesn’t change that.

Correa was even struggling to hit in the series, so naturally he was the one to hit the walk-off. This came in a game that saw Dusty Baker use seven pitchers as the Astros fought for their postseason lives.

The series is now 3-2 in favor of the Rays. But Tampa fans may have serious concerns about that offense. This was the second straight game scoring only three runs and the high-mark in the series is the five runs scored in Game 3. The high for the Astros is only four runs, but this exhilarating victory has the chance to inspire the Astros offense.

There are no days off in this series and both teams will be right back at it Friday evening. All the jokes about the Astros struggling without sign-stealing are quickly being forgotten as the Rays need to regroup quickly to avoid having this series go seven games.
