College football DFS quarterback picks October 16:

Top Tier:

Zach Wilson was efficient if not dominant last week against UTSA. Yes, the sledding should be even easier against Houston. Part of it has to do with the Houston offense running at almost as fast of a pace as BYU will.

Middle Tier:

With only four quarterbacks on the slate, it’s hard to rule one out entirely. I’m not saying that I wouldn’t use Clayton Tune, but I will say that Shane Buechele is much more of a priority. BYU’s defense is better than Tulane’s, but also, SMU throws a lot more than Houston does. Tune is a good way to avoid ownership, but if It comes down to him or Buechele, it’s a pretty easy choice. I’m not opposed to running both though if you think Houston can clip BYU’s wings a little like UTSA did.

Bargain Shoppers:

That leaves us with Michael Pratt. He took the job from Keon Howard and led the Green Wave to a big win in Hattiesburg. Pratt completed just 11 of 25 passes against Houston, but he didn’t turn the ball over. That’s perhaps the most important thing. Pratt is very, very cheap and we all know the SMU defense is nothing to write home about. I love Pratt for a value pick. However, we don’t really need value here. Pratt is more a way to dodge high ownership and hope a couple of the overpriced guys go off.
