MORGANTOWN, WV – OCTOBER 06: Leddie Brown #4 of the West Virginia Mountaineers runs into the end zone for a 15-yard touchdown after catching a pass against the Kansas Jayhawks in the first quarter of the game at Mountaineer Field on October 6, 2018 in Morgantown, West Virginia. College football DFS running back picks October 17:

Top Tier:

Last week marked the first time this season that Travis Etienne topped 20 touches. He going to do a lot when they do give him the ball, but this is likely to be a blowout. Etienne’s ceiling is capped, but he’s a sure thing for cash games.

Like I said, the Kansas defense is awful. Leddie Brown probably has the highest ceiling on the entire slate. The Mountaineers feed him the ball a lot. He’s finally facing a team that he can do some serious damage against. That hasn’t been the case so far.

Kevin Harris quietly became the every down back for South Carolina. The fact that he can catch passes out of the backfield doesn’t hurt his DFS value either. I don’t know what to think about the Auburn defense, but I do know that South Carolina is going to ride Harris.

Middle Tier:

That Louisville defense is just not very good right now. Kyren Williams had a huge game against Florida State and could be in for another big one here. Book didn’t poach his touchdowns last week. Neither did Flemister. This is a great spot for Williams.

Kylin Hill may not have got much rushing, but he led the team with 15 receptions. 15! From a running back! That makes him worth whatever risk there is using pieces of the Mississippi State offense.

Billy Kemp is back to being listed as a running back on DraftKings. Considering he ran one time and caught ten passes last week, it makes perfect sense. Kemp’s target total remains very high and gives him one of the better floors you’ll find. This is a horrible mismatch for Wake no matter who starts at QB for Virginia. Kemp will be heavily involved in the game plan.

Isaiah Spiller had his coming out party against Florida, but he was still splitting carries with Ainias Smith. Spiller is far more explosive and he’s the back I want if I decide to chase A&M. Mississippi State’s defense has been pretty solid so far, but with the offense continuously making mistakes, there will be plenty of chances for Spiller.

Bargain Shoppers:

South Carolina’s defense has been soft against the run. Tank Bigsby had a monster last week against Arkansas. This is a really good spot for Bigsby, especially when you consider that his price didn’t go up that much on DraftKings. Bigsby looks like a hell of a value.

Rodrigues Clark is the lead back for Memphis against a UCF defense that hasn’t been all that great. There still might be a better value than him though. Chris Rodriguez is in for another big workload with Smoke still out, but A.J. Rose has been almost as good with about half the carries. Rose is an interesting punt with Rodriguez being the safer play.

Wayne Taulapapa is a lead back against a poor rush defense for under $5,000 this week against Wake Forest. With the way Virginia is throwing the ball, I would say that Taulapapa doesn’t have big upside, but I do like the potential.
