The Cardinals shouldn’t take the Cowboys lightly

One surprise contender in the early going is the Arizona Cardinals, who got back on track by beating up on the New York Jets on Sunday. Kyler Murray had a great day as a passer, completing 27 of 37 passes for 380 yards and a touchdown in a 30-10 win.

There are areas of concern with Arizona, which hasn’t looked as sharp in recent weeks as they did in two easy wins to start the year. The Cardinals weren’t spectacular against the Jets yesterday but cruised thanks to the complete ineptitude of New York.

To make matters worse, Chandler Jones is likely out for the year with a biceps injury. The Cardinals are favored by 2.5 points on Monday night against a Cowboys’ team that just lost Dak Prescott for a long time but sleeping on Dallas would be a mistake.

The Cowboys have one of the NFL’s most capable backup quarterbacks in Andy Dalton, who will now have a full week of practice to get ready for the Cardinals. Dalton has multiple playoff trips on his resume and has the best supporting cast of his career with the Cowboys so Dallas’ offense won’t take too much of a dip here.

This game should be a close one and it wouldn’t be at all surprising for Dallas to topple the Cardinals in a shootout, making this game one that has to be on upset alert for the visitors.
