3. Alexander Mattison (MIN)

Game: Atlanta Falcons at Minnesota Vikings (Sunday, 10/18, 1:00 pm EST)

The NFL’s leading rusher is Dalvin Cook — by a mile. However, he tweaked his groin during a loss to the Seattle Seahawks last Sunday Night.

Insert Alexander Mattison.

The Vikings spent relatively high draft capital on Mattison in 2019, and that move is paying off. Dalvin’s status for Week 6 is questionable. In the event he does not play or is on a pitch count, Mattison is more than equipped to carve up the Atlanta Falcons stinky defense.

There’s also a chance that the Vikings implement a committee-style approach to rushing the football, so…

4. Mike Boone (MIN)

Game: Atlanta Falcons at Minnesota Vikings (Sunday, 10/18, 1:00 pm EST)

…we’re adding Boone to the list. The 25-year-old speed demon is in his third season from the University of Cincinnati. For a litany of other NFL franchises, Boone would be a card-carrying RB2 and maybe even an RB1.

The Vikings will run the football vs. Atlanta, so there’s a very good possibility one of these two running backs hits paydirt. Yes, this is a sleeper hedge bet. Who cares? Atlanta has the 30th-ranked defense in the NFL via points allowed. The Vikings will seek to continue the trend against the embattled Falcons.
