Arizona Cardinals. player. Pick Analysis. NFC West. . 2. 32. Scouting Report

The Cardinals think they have their franchise quarterback in Kyler Murray, and Steve Keim has tried his best to give him some weapons, trading for Kenyan Drake and DeAndre Hopkins within the last 365 days. While all three have made some plays in Kliff Kingsbury’s Air Raid, his system is not the friendliest for tight ends.

Dan Arnold, who is a bit of a hybrid between a wideout and a tight end, is only seeing time because he can line up in the slot and run somewhat crisp routes. If Kingsbury wants to give Kyler another pass catcher but isn’t going to use his tight ends as in-line blockers, trading for Njoku should give the Cardinals another fearsome offensive weapon to deploy.

Njoku was not a great blocker at Miami, and he failed to really develop into an elite blocker despite playing in-line frequently under Jackson and Kitchens in Cleveland.

Rather than trying to plug a square peg into a round hole, Arizona could just put Njoku out wide to get him matched up against smaller cornerbacks and watch him prosper. He could add a whole new dimension to Kingsbury’s offense.
