28. Taylor Moton gets paid by the Panthers

Matt Rhule and Joe Brady are working to build an elite offense in Carolina. A big part of that goal can be achieved by building a top-quality offensive line. The Panthers are not blessed with a ton of talent up front right now, but Moton’s play at right tackle has been a real bright spot in recent years.

Simply put, the Panthers can’t afford to let an above-average starting offensive tackle leave. That’s why Carolina will pony up the required cash to ink Moton to a long-term deal. He’s not going to get paid like an All-Pro, but don’t be surprised if he becomes one of the highest-paid right tackles in the game.

Remember, the status of Russell Okung on the left side is up in the air as well. It’s hard to envision Carolina going into 2021 with two new starters at tackle. Add it all up and Moton has a ton of leverage in these contract negotiations.

As long as no one else makes an outrageous offer, Moton should stay with the team that drafted him. A long-term deal will be in the best interest of everyone involved. Moton fits what Rhule wants to do perfectly and he’ll get paid as a result.
