Late College football DFS picks October 24: Dax attack

College football DFS quarterback picks October 24:
Top Tier:
Texas State has one of the worst pass defenses in the country, allowing almost 286 passing yards per game. That alone makes it nearly impossible to fade Zach Wilson. The video game numbers are going to happen this week as well.
The drop is steep at QB, especially when you look at the matchups for the next two guys. Cincinnati is statistically a top five defense. Virginia’s defense was a problem, but only when the offense put them in bad situations. If Armstrong is out, I’ll take one shot with D’Eriq King, but this isn’t what I would call a great spot.
Middle Tier:
Desmond Trotter is still the quarterback of choice for me. Chance Lovertich will take some snaps, but Trotter’s athleticism keeps plays alive longer. His passing ability isn’t that far below Lovertich either. It’s just a give that Trotter is cheaper on DraftKings.
The LSU quarterback situation is a huge risk, but if Finley plays well, I don’t see the Tigers yanking him for Max Johnson. Johnson will take snaps at some point, but if Finley plays well, he could play a large chunk of this game. Stay far away from this situation in cash games though.
Only Memphis has allowed more passing yards per game than LSU so far this season, and LSU played a Missouri team that doesn’t throw a lot. I will have plenty of exposure to Collin Hill here. Hill has been content to let the backs carry the load the last couple of weeks, but he should get a healthy workload here.
Bargain Shoppers:
This is a nice spot for Frank Harris here, but now UTSA doesn’t have Lowell Narcisse to fall back on if Harris gets hurt. I tend to think that the Roadrunners wont call any designed runs for Harris and will likely plead with him not to take off until he absolutely has to. This will cap Harris’s upside, but this is still a great matchup for the price.
Saddle up Desmond Ridder here. The SMU defense is not very good. The Cincinnati quarterback has not had an easy go of it so far this year, but his stats are about to get a huge boost here.
Brady McBride has a path to a really good game, but the BYU defense is still going to get after him. He’ll rack up some yards, but ask anyone who played Matt Corral last week. At some point the turnovers catch up and ruin the score. The silver lining here is that McBride only costs $5,000 and is cheaper than his own freaking backup.
